## Where the award data comes from

Every row is a contract award notice published by a UK public buyer on Contracts Finder or Find a Tender (and TED for older notices), plus council contract registers. Values are shown only when the published figure is money won, not a framework ceiling or a likely keying error.

Since the Procurement Act 2023 took effect in February 2025, Find a Tender award notices often name every supplier that bid, not just the winner, and say how many bids came in and how many were from SMEs. Where the notice gives those counts, they appear beside the contract. For more on how awards work under the new rules, read our [procurement guides](/guides).

## Questions people ask

How do I find out who won a public sector tender?UK buyers must publish a contract award notice: on Find a Tender for higher-value contracts and on Contracts Finder for most contracts over £12,000 (£30,000 for many other public bodies). Search here by buyer or keyword to see the winner, the value and the award date, with a link to the original notice.

Can I see the losing bids? Not the bids themselves, which stay confidential. Since the Procurement Act 2023 came into force in February 2025, Find a Tender award notices often name every supplier that bid, and many notices also say how many bids were received and how many came from SMEs. Where the notice gives those counts, we show them.

How do I ask for a debrief or use FOI?If you bid, the buyer must give you an assessment summary explaining your scores and the winner’s; ask the buyer’s contact if you have not had one. If you did not bid, you can make a Freedom of Information request for the contract, prices and performance information, though commercially sensitive parts may be withheld.

How up to date is the award data?We check Find a Tender and Contracts Finder for new award notices every two hours, and hold award history going back around ten years. A contract only appears once the buyer publishes its award notice, which can be weeks after the decision.
