Návrh KoPÚ bude zpracován tak, aby jej bylo možno zapsat do katastru nemovitostí. Dílo bude sloužit jako podklad pro rozhodnutí pozemkového úřadu o schválení návrhu pozemkových úprav a rozhodnutí o výměně nebo přechodu vlastnických práv a dále jako neopomenutelný podklad pro územní plánování.
