Mitochondrien, Chloroplasten und ihre DNA, sowie deren dynamische Regulierung in lebenden Zellen der Modellorganismen Bäckerhefe und Chlamydomonas reinhardtii sind wichtige Forschungsschwerpunkte im Rahmen des ERC Projekt MITOSIZE.
