Der geplante Neubau ist ein Forschungsgebäude für die Entwicklung von Wasserstofftechnologien und Brennstoffzellentechnik. Ein Kantinenebereich für den Gesamtcampus sowie ein Konferenzzentrum für die Nutzung am Campus des ISE sollen angegliedert werden. Bei dem Neubau handelt es sich um ein neuen Gebäudekomplex mit etwa 5.040 m² für Labore, Technika, Büros, Seminarräume, Lagerflächen und einer Kantine. Bei dem Neubau handelt es sich um eine Arbeitsstätte für ca. 133 Mitarbeitende.
