Cílem stavby je zvýšení kapacity stávajícího přístaviště Napajedla prostřednictvím jeho rozšíření ve dvou etapách. Nová přístavní hrana šířky přibližně 3 m a délky 20 m bude provedena ve stejném vzhledu a technologii jako stávající přístavní hrana. Etapa 1, v projektové dokumentaci označená jako IO 01 ETAPA 1, zahrnuje rozšíření přístaviště o 20 m po toku vody řeky Moravy. Etapa 2, v projektové dokumentaci označená jako IO 02 ETAPA 2, zahrnuje rozšíření přístaviště o 20 m proti toku vody řeky Moravy. Realizací obou etap bude dosaženo celkové délky podélného stání přístaviště Napajedla 85 m.
