The equipment shall be fully automated, i.e. manual processes shall not be required after samples are installed in the equipment and the analysis process is started, beyond any need for refills for consumables. The laboratory plans to analyse a volume of approx. 1,200 analyses daily, within the stated working hours (Mondays 08-1530), 250 days/year. Furthermore, it is planned that the equipment can be automated at a later date by being put on a band system when the laboratory moves its activities to the Life Science Building (hereafter called LVB).
