In order to fulfil the performance mandate issued by the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) to OFCOM to determine the radio interference of the security services and aircraft radio within 8 hours, RM relies on a high level of operational readiness from its field strength measurement vehicles. The four field strength measurement vehicles from the RM operation as well as the two measurement vehicles from the RM specialised service have been in operation for around 13 years.
