Groot onderdeel hiervan is het veiliger maken van het stationsgebied door de huidige situatie bij de spoorovergang aan te pakken en de bushaltes te verplaatsen. De aanleg van een rotonde dient bij te dragen aan de verkeersveiligheid. Het vergroten van het aantal parkeerplaatsen draagt bij aan de bereikbaarheid en leefbaarheid van de stationsomgeving.
