Metodika poskytne obcím návod, jak lépe plánovat své investice a údržbu, což přispěje ke zlepšení dostupnosti bydlení, vše s důrazem na dlouhodobé finanční plánování. Podle metodiky bude možné nastavovat dlouhodobé ekonomické plány udržitelnosti a rozvoje bytových fondů (horizont 30–50 let). Metodika bude využitelná pro obce různých velikostí a pro různá konkrétní nastavení správy bytových fondů.
