Projektnim zadatkom predviđena je izgradnja i opremanje nove područne škole za 448 učenika, sa 16 učionica sa najviše 28 učenika po razredu. Projektom je predviđen i izgradnja jednodijelne i male školske sportske dvorane, što školi sa 16 razrednih odjela pripada po Normativima. Škola je pravilnog oblika kvadra, a čine je kubus škole s učionicama te kubus školske dvorane. Dva objekta povezana su u prizemlju unutarnjim prostorom hola te vanjskim ophodnim trijemom. Vanjski prostor čini veliki trijem oko cijele škole i dva dvorišta za vanjsku nastavu. Škola je katnosti P+2, a školska dvorana P+1. Cilj projekta je osigurati dostatne infrastrukturne i materijalne kapacitete za prelazak I. i III. OŠ Čakovec na rad u jednoj smjeni i provođenje cjelodnevne škole.
