Steigende Schülerzahlen, die neuen Schulbaurichtlinien und die Anforderungen an die Ganztagsbetreuung lassen sich mit dem bestehenden Raumangebot nicht mehr vereinbaren und benötigen dringend einer Erweiterung und Optimierung der Nibelungengrundschule. Diese Prognose wurde zuletzt (01/2025) durch die Schulaufsicht anerkannt und ein Ausbau in eine 4-zügige Grundschule genehmigt.
