Die Anlage soll Bakterien aus Umweltproben unter sterilen Bedingungen im 384 well Platten-Format kultivieren und Wachstum mittels OD600 feststellen können. Nach langen Inkubationszeiten (von einem Monat bis zu einem Jahr) werden bewachsene wells mittels cherry picking in 96 well Platten überführt. Von den Kandidaten wird eine 16S rRNA-Gen PCR durchgeführt, dessen DNA zur Sanger-Sequenzierung aufgereinigt und ausgegeben. Manuell werden neue Stämme identifiziert.
