L’élimination du goulet d’étranglement de la route nationale N04 entre l’échangeur de Winterthour Nord et Kleinandelfingen requiert un élargissement de la chaussée. Près d’Andelfingen, l’élargissement à 4 voies nécessite une nouvelle traversée de la vallée de la Thur par le biais d’un nouveau pont de 400 m de long.
