Das Entfernen der Miko-Verunreinigungen erfolgt mittels der Zudosierung von Pulveraktivkohle. Um eine behördlich vorgeschriebene Adsorptionsleistung von mindestens 80% der Spurenstoffe (bezogen auf die Handlungsempfehlung des Kompetenzzentrum Spurenstoffe BW) erreichen zu können wenden jährlich im Durchschnitt 140 bis 150 Tonnen Pulveraktivkohle verbraucht.
