Für das Monitoring relevant sind die insgesamt 93 m langen Bauabschnitte 6 - 9 der Weströhre. Die aus Spannbeton bestehenden Tunneldecken wurden mit Spanngliedern vorgespannt, die als spannungsrisskorrosionsgefährdet gelten. Geplant ist daher ein Schallemissionsmonitoring zur Erkennung möglicher Spannstahlbrüche sowie ergänzende Temperaturmessungen.
