Lithiumhoudende energiedragers worden, vanwege hun hoge energiedichtheid en lange levensduur, in toenemende mate toegepast binnen Defensie. De introductie en het groeiende gebruik van deze energiedragers binnen alle krijgsmachtdelen leidt tot een toename van veiligheidsrisico’s voor operationele eenheden, materieel en ondersteunende processen. Deze opslag- en/of (ont)laadcontainers worden ingezet voor het veilig opslaan, laden en ontladen van lithiumbatterijen. Omdat dit op korte termijn moet plaatsvinden, worden de containers ingehuurd en wordt de opdracht voornamelijk gegund op basis van de kortst mogelijke levertijd.
