Für die rund 360.000 Einwohner in 34 Städten, Gemeinden und Samtgemeinden ist sie für die Organisation der öffentlich-rechtlichen Entsorgung zuständig. Dabei handelt es sich um verschiedenste Abfallströme, insbesondere Restmüll-, Papier-, Bio- und Leichtverpackungsabfälle. Hierfür sollen Zwei- und Vierradbehälter für das Jahr 2027 beschafft werden.
