Plieningen. Straßenbaulastträger ist das LRA Esslingen. Im Zuge der Untersuchungen wurde festgestellt, dass der Tunnel über eine veraltete u. zum Teil nicht RABT- bzw. EABT-80/100-konforme bauliche u. betriebstechnische Ausstattung verfügt. Um den Risikoerwartungswert auf das erforderliche Niveau abzumindern, sind umfangreiche Erneuerungs- u. Ertüchtigungsmaßnahmen im Bereich der elektromaschinellen Tunnelausstattung und das Nachrüsten einer Brandbekämpfungsanlage durchzuführen. Für die Löschwasserbevorratung und die Unterbringung der Pumpenanlagen wird ein sogenanntes Pumpenhaus, bestehend aus Pumpenraum und Löschwasserbecken, errichtet. Im Bereich der Tunnelportale sind bauliche Maßnahmen für Schrankenanlagen, Höhenkontrollen, Verkehrszeichen, etc. vorgesehen.
