The extra care schemes are made up of self-contained units which comprise of a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and 1 or 2 bedrooms. Each scheme will have a communal area such as a lounge, café, or activity room. Extra Care Housing Schemes provide an onsite care team 24/7 to ensure the care and support for people residing within the schemes in Cumberland can meet planned and unplanned assessed care needs to enable people to live as independently as possible. The care and support needs to be flexible, responsive, and able to provide non-scheduled support to people as required.
