The current provider supports adults with acute and/or chronic musculoskeletal issues. The Council has a limited budget for this service and is keen to explore the different models available to provide a good service to our employees and where possible, reduce the number of face-to-face appointments. Suggested alternative models to face-to-face could include initial triage by telephone, referral to NHS online information, webinars, leaflets, etc. The preference is to continue to have a single provider to allow the Council to continue to streamline services and reduce management and administration costs. We anticipate that a single provider would continue to support a straight forward referral process and consolidate the reporting and monitoring functions we would require. The length of contract, model, budget and route to market has still to be confirmed.
