GPS tags must be immersion proof, collect GPS locations at ~144 fixes per day, collect accelerometery data, have remote download via UHF, have a battery life and on-board memory of at least two weeks, and weigh under 7g. Base stations must be immersion-proof, have a battery life of around 28 days and be equipped with a solar panel.
