Following the UK Government-commissioned Regulatory Review of Unmanned Aircraft Systems, the CAA modernised the drone regulatory framework, including the introduction of Remote ID. This identified a requirement to introduce IDV for drone operators registering or renewing an Operator ID through the Drone and Model Aircraft Registration and Education Service (DMARES). DMARES currently has no IDV capability.
