The structure was widened on the upstream side on the 1840's and the older, downstream section was saddled in 1990. The contract will be to undertake masonry repairs on the older section of the eastern arch. The arch barrel has suffered from deep mortar loss and voiding over approx. 50% of the barrel and will require repairing via pressure grouting or another suitable method.
