Family Safeguarding takes a multi-disciplinary approach to working with children and families including Social Workers, Children and Family Practitioners, working alongside specialist adult workers including Adult Recovery Workers, Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Domestic Abuse officers and Mental Health Practitioners to provide help and support in relation to known issues associated with the reasons and triggers for child safeguarding concerns - parental domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental ill health issues. In Wigan the Mental Health Workers will be a Commissioned Service.
