The site is located approximately 1km east of Camerton, Cumbria, at National Grid Reference - NY 04431 30768. The site comprises an area of failed highway embankment carrying the C2016 adjacent to the River Derwent. The slope failure comprises a translational slip around 40m long, 1.5m wide (max) and 2m high, where material supporting the C2016 has moved downslope into the channel of the River Derwent and subsequently washed downstream.
