DESNZ's previous research into the EE retrofit supply chain highlighted that many behavioural factors, such as a preference for construction workers to work within an industry they are familiar with or negative perceptions amongst people of the construction industry as a whole, are key factors limiting the growth of the supply chain. This research will focus on more deeply understanding these existing behavioural barriers that might stop the groups above from entering the EE retrofit supply chain and identify targeted solutions to the barriers. Whilst we know that demand for EE retrofit work is perhaps the biggest barrier to boosting the capacity of the supply chain, this barrier is well known, and work is ongoing to address this.
