CERS will allow ports, shipping agents and vessels to meet reporting requirements in a user-friendly and modern application. The information collected by CERS is sent onwards to the European hosted THETIS system, where it can be accessed by MCA Surveyors and inform the UK's vessel inspection regime. An API tool also allows manipulation of the CERS dataset to respond to government and industry queries. CERS is cloud hosted and not managed as part of the MCA network.
