These are delivered in settings where illicit drug and/or alcohol use is not permitted. The continuity of care offered by rehabilitation programmes following detoxification enables the progress made to be consolidated and built upon, increasing the likelihood of the individual maintaining a drug and/or alcohol-free lifestyle. This model incorporates direct access into a residential setting for people with multiple disadvantages and complex needs who require a safe place to live whilst embarking on their journey of detoxification and subsequent rehabilitation to becoming drug and/or alcohol free.
