## About this tender

Police Regulations set out the list of qualifications required to commence as a Police Officer. When Oleeo was implemented, agreement was made with the Higher Education Institutes that partner with the Welsh Forces, the numerical calculation test could be viewed as equivalent to the Level 3 requirements. This test had two elements Verbal Reasoning and Calculation (maths).

It is a key requirement of the supplier to provide the tests and supporting materials in both Welsh and English to comply with the Welsh Language Act.

Level 3 is the level of attainment (in terms of breadth and depth) which, in the opinion of the Secretary of State, is demonstrated by the General Certificate of Education at the advanced level in two subjects.

The verbal reasoning and numerical calculation tests are currently also used for PCSO recruitment; albeit at a level adjusted to a level 2 qualification in Maths & English.

Mae Rheoliadau'r Heddlu yn gosod y rhestr cymwysterau sydd eu hangen er mwyn dechrau fel Swyddog Heddlu. Pan weithredwyd Oleeo, cytunwyd hefo'r Sefydliadau Addysg Uwch sydd mewn partneriaeth hefo Heddluoedd Cymru, y gellid ystyried bod y prawf cyfrifo rhifiadol yn cyfateb i ofynion Lefel 3. Roedd gan y prawf hwn ddwy elfen sef Rhesymu Llafar a Chyfrifo (mathemateg).

Mae'n ofyniad allweddol i'r cyflenwr ddarparu'r profion a'r deunyddiau ategol yn y Gymraeg a'r Saesneg er mwyn cydymffurfio â Deddf y Gymraeg.

Lefel 3 yw lefel cyrhaeddiad (o ran ehangder a dyfnder) sydd, ym marn yr Ysgrifennydd Gwladol, yn cael ei harddangos gan y Dystysgrif Addysg Gyffredinol ar y lefel uwch mewn dau bwnc.

Mae'r profion rhesymu llafar a chyfrifo rhifiadol hefyd yn cael eu defnyddio ar gyfer recriwtio SCCH ar hyn o bryd, er ar lefel wedi'i haddasu i gymhwyster lefel 2 mewn Mathemateg a Saesneg.
