The Council are looking at ways to help residents and businesses in the district reduce carbon emissions and energy costs. with the aim of reducing carbon emissions across the district. While there is additional work to do around supporting businesses, as the first stage of this strategic goal work, the Programme Board supporting officers have been exploring the ways in which the Council can support private residents, in addition to existing schemes such as the government grant schemes. One method of supporting residents is to provide a loan, at a lower interest rate than a standard bank loan.
