The aim of fisheries management plans is to set out policies required to maintain or restore stocks to sustainable levels. Fisheries management plans are evidence based and collaboratively developed with fisheries stakeholders. Robust evidence is required to fully understand the biological and ecological characteristics of species, identify any concerns regarding the sustainability of respective fisheries, and support any subsequent management.
