In order to provide a suitable basis for progressing the plan, the District Council is seeking tender quotations from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to undertake a Sustainability Appraisal (SA) incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) / Environmental Outcomes Report (EOR). The SA / EOR is required by legislation, the National Planning Policy Framework and Planning Practice Guidance and to meet the legal tests of Local Plan Examination. These requirements ensure the Local Plan is a sustainable plan. MDC is located in the north western part of the County of Nottinghamshire. It covers an area of some 30 square miles (77 Square kilometres). Mansfield is the main town within the district, but other settlements include: Mansfield Woodhouse, Forest Town, Market Warsop and the surrounding Warsop Parish villages and parts of Pleasley, Clipston and Rainworth. Mansfield District has an estimated population of 108,576.
