The modular based, bespoke bid writing training package will be grounded in local context, need, governance and internal processes, including details specific to Walsall. It will include a variety of teaching styles such as online self-learning options as well as material for face-face sessions, and have a variety of interactive learning aids including quizzes, case studies, videos etc. The aim of the training package is to: o Guide and support Council staff and Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS) partners with bespoke, Walsall-specific information to develop successful funding bids. o Enhance Officer capacity for project development and bid preparation. o Encourage collaboration with other service areas and external partners. o Minimise risk to the Council through better planned ideas and bids. o Early identification of issues associated with Service Area proposals e.g. legal, procurement is understood, raised and addressed ahead of bid application. o Improve understanding of innovation and 'added value'.
