This will provide stronger evidence to support analysis of industrial decarbonisation for carbon budget setting and better inform policy development. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) plan to share this evidence with the Climate Change Committee (CCC) to influence their Carbon Budget 7 (CB7) modelling and subsequent advice for placing restrictions on UK greenhouse gas emission over CB7 (2038-2042) . This research needs final analytical outputs by the end of June 2024 in order for DESNZ to meet the CCC's CB7 analysis timelines.
