Before the start of works the contractor must have an emergency evacuation plan in place including an assembly area and named person or persons that will have responsibility for ensuring the safe evacuation of all persons within the property including the tenants. As different contractors fill the Principal Contractor role this responsibility will move to different people. However when 2 contractors are on site at the same time it must be agreed that 1 person has this overall responsibility.
