With the emerging cost of living crisis, more people have found their incomes do not cover the cost of essentials like heating and food, and with the cost of food also increasing this has compounded the problem, resulting in a substantial rise in the use of food banks. The aim of the Food Club Service is to provide Food Boxes of various sizes to suit an individual, small family or large family for up to 1 week's food at approximately 20 percent of the price the equivalent would cost in a Supermarket whilst still delivering a healthy, culturally appropriate, selection of foods. The food boxes will be able to be ordered via a variety of sources; face to face, telephone, internet etc. and paid for in cash or by card. The boxes will also be delivered to a number of hubs across the borough and can be ordered in advance via the community centres in these locations.
