The aim of the study is to understand and quantify public's perceptions towards places of worship. The organisation is expected to survey a representative sample from an area designated by Historic England, with a requisite of at least 2000 respondents. Historic England (HE) is the public body that helps people care for, enjoy, and celebrate England's historic environment. The organisation plays a pivotal role in championing the broader value of heritage to society. In line with this mission, Historic England aims to quantify the perceived public value of preserving historic places of worship. To achieve this, a contingent valuation study has been designed.
