The virtual wards service has been developed to support the increasing Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) operational pressures, reducing demand for acute bed capacity across the Norfolk & Waveney system and improving patient flow. The expansion of virtual ward capacity is a key component in the Norfolk & Waveney system plans to address UEC pressures whilst at the same time improving the patient experience and care.
