Of that GBP50,000 grant, a maximum budget of GBP45,000 has been set aside for the design, installation and maintenance of the Digital Immersive Experience interpretation of the engine room within St Georges Hall. The project is required to align with the existing History Whisperer digital attraction at the St Georges Hall. The Council is seeking to create a digitised immersive experience, based on the Worlds first commercial heating system and engine room in the hall. This will consider the basement area and other useable public spaces of St Georges Hall, which will bring to life the social history of Liverpool from 1750 to 1950. The new installation will track the history of the hall through digital film and imagery, bringing the building and the citys history to life in the backdrop of St Georges Hall.
