The extension to standing out provision will employ a free standing roller rail and container configuration to ensure compatibility with the existing infrastructure. Development operations entail removal of topsoil and limited grading/levelling of the substrate followed by the laying and compaction of stone and geomembrane /root barrier to form a base for the new rails, which are grounded onto concrete pads. New concrete aprons will form walkways to facilitate safe access. The containers require irrigation provision. The current system employs pivot sprinklers which while effective, is target limited and results in high water use. The provision of boom irrigation is to be investigated as a preferred water conservation strategy. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs).
