St Helens Borough Council has been awarded £650,000 by the Department of Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs to spend on the project. The project will focus on encouraging operators to take the worst-polluting commercial vehicles off the road by providing grants towards part of the costs of retrofitting or replacing them.
