Last year, twenty high risk activities which the Environment Agency routinely undertakes, were identified as being of particular concern and required a review of their operation and a review of the competency of the people undertaking the operation, for example ensuring that any training and legislative requirements were valid. This contract is being let to enable additional expertise to be bought in to support the review of the operation of these top 20 activities and any cross-cutting issues which have emerged as result of the reviews. We are seeking in particular expertise in programme and risk management and also specific technical expertise in areas such as heavy plant and working on or near water environments.
