The route is identified within the Kendal Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP). This document sets out the Councils priorities for the delivery of cycling and walking improvements at a local level over the period 2022-2037, with the aim of encouraging more people to make journeys on foot or by bike. The Council has developed costed concept designs for the route and have secured funding for the next stage of design development through the Active Travel Fund 4 (ATF4).
