The SHAPE Programme is a "child's voice" initiative led by SMBC. One of the key events within the programme is the engagement of children and young people through their local schools at a conference. Separate primary and secondary school conferences are held in the summer term. The SHAPE Programme has additionally introduced a conference for the STEPs (Sandwell Transitional Educational Partnerships) Centre which offers support to children and their families; new to Sandwell and the UK, who speak English as an additional language. attend Virtual School in Sandwell.
