Requirement Overview: All licensed doctors are required to have an annual appraisal based on the GMC's (General Medical Council) Good Medical Practise Framework. Medical appraisal is a process of facilitated self-review supported by information gathered from the full scope of the doctor's work. The appraisal forms a mandatory requirement of the GMC's five-year license revalidation cycle. The Supplier must arrange, undertake and record approximately 50 of thesec quality-assured Medical appraisals with DVLA Doctors within a 12 month timescale. Drivers Medical Group within DVLA currently employs 40 DVLA Doctors, 2 Junior Doctors and 1 Senior Medical Advisor (SMA) but this number is likely to increase over the life of this contract. The DVLA has indicated that approximately 50 quality assured Medical appraisals will be required on an annual basis but cannot guarantee minimum or maximum volumes.
