Previous works to plug the eastern sluices are showing signs of degradation allowing leakage from the inner basin to the outer harbour. The eastern sluices are to be dammed, but not completely blocked. The solution envisaged is a plate or wall, with a weir or letterbox set at 3.6m chart datum. The solution is to last 25 years with minimal maintenance. The Contract is anticipated to commence upon 8 August 2022 for a duration of 12 Weeks.
