There has also been significant change in the local authority capacity and approaches across the region since the transition of 2013 and especially through the last 24 months of responding to the pandemic. The Covid response has enabled significant cross organisational working as well as rapid expansion of capacity through large numbers of interim appointments. Hence, we feel this is a good point in time to take stock of our collective capacity across the West Midlands public health family and reflect on how we can work effectively together moving forward.
