The service generally operates on a Friday and Saturday evening between the hours of 22:30 and 05:30. The service which is run by the Council operates in partnership with West Yorkshire Police. The scheme is now embedded within the nighttime economy within the city centre and continues to deliver a range of benefits including: a reduction of crime in the Westgate area, a greater sense of safety for visitors, increased support to taxi drivers and licensees and a reduction in the amount of unofficial flyering through the monitoring of literature.
