The project will evaluate the performance of existing open-loop and closed-loop water source heat pump installations installed in a mixture of domestic and non-domestic properties. The project will identify examples of best practice and considerations that need to be made when designing water source heat pumps schemes in the historic environment. Due to financial cost being a barrier towards implementation, best practice approaches will be identified and summarised so that all stakeholders can understand the considerations associated with this technology. The evaluation of this application will extend to those installations where improvements can be made.
