This increases risk and costs to the business and therefore it is recommended that some or all of the equipment be replaced. The compressors and equipment are necessary to generate quality pressurised air for all core activities including paint spraying, shot blasting, and without a reliable source of compressed air these activities will not function and therefore buoy refurbishment cannot be undertaken. The current system comprises of one variable speed drive (VSD) compressor and one fixed speed, the VSD is used to top up system pressure and volume when necessary.
